Taurus GX4XL

The Taurus GX4XL is the long-slide variant of the GX4, mirroring the SIG P365 / P365XL relationship. The GX4XL keeps the GX4 grip frame but extends the slide and barrel to 3.7 inches, which gains 80 to 100 fps in muzzle velocity over the standard GX4 and adds about 0.6 inches of sight radius. Magazines cross-fit with the GX4 (11+1 flush, 13+1 / 15+1 extended).

The GX4XL is the right pick for a shooter who wants P365XL-class performance at half the price. It conceals nearly as well as the GX4 because the grip frame (the harder part to hide) is identical. The longer slide does sit a half-inch lower on AIWB carry, which is a real difference for shooters with shorter torsos.

A factory GX4XL T.O.R.O. variant ($410) adds the Shield RMSc optic cut. Without the T.O.R.O. cut, GX4XL owners are limited to slide-milling services if they want a slide-mounted optic. The GX4XL has the same no-rail, no-thread design as the standard GX4 — clamp-on lights only, no factory suppressor support.
