Manticore Arms
Aluminum and polymer buttpad that shortens the Hellion's length of pull by 1 inch and adds a curved profile for better shoulder index.
The Springfield Hellion's factory buttpad is flat polymer and sets length of pull at 14.4 inches in the longest position, which is uncomfortable for shorter shooters, armor wearers, or anyone running a high-mounted optic that wants the rifle pulled deeper into the shoulder pocket. The Manticore Arms Hellion Curved Buttpad shortens length of pull by 1 inch and adds a curved profile that locks into the shoulder more positively under recoil.
Construction is an aluminum core with a hard polymer overlay, which gives the part durability the factory polymer pad lacks while keeping weight reasonable at around 3.2 ounces. The curved profile is a meaningful improvement on the bullpup, where the heavy receiver weight sits over the shooting hand and a flat buttpad tends to slip during transitions.
Manticore manufactures the part in the USA and OpticsPlanet stocks it under part number MA-35600 for around $160. Installation is drop-in to the factory Hellion stock, which preserves the factory five-position LOP adjustment and cheek riser. Pair with the Stinc Low Profile Stock if you want to eliminate the LOP adjustment entirely and run a fixed minimum-LOP setup.
