Silencer Central BANISH 12 12-Gauge Suppressor
The BANISH 12 is Silencer Central's first dedicated 12-gauge shotgun suppressor and the gun it built to win the category. At 17.6 ounces it is the lightest fixed-length shotgun can in its class, a number it hits by building the entire body, baffle stack, and choke system from titanium rather than the stainless most shotgun cans rely on. The can fixes at 8.55 inches and measures 3.1 inches wide by 2.4 inches tall, sitting flush enough on the muzzle that it clears most barrel-mounted bead and rib sight pictures.
Mounting happens at the choke rather than at a threaded muzzle. The BANISH 12 ships with the choke mount of your choice plus three interchangeable BANISH choke tubes in Improved Cylinder, Modified, and Full constrictions, so a single can covers open buckshot patterns, tighter slug groups, and constricted birdshot work without a second suppressor. Sound reduction runs up to 21 dB; Silencer Central measured roughly 138 dB at the shooter's ear with 3-inch #2 shot leaving the muzzle at 1,550 fps, which is hearing-safe at the can's full length.
It eats the full shotgun diet: #8 through #2 shot, BB and BBB, 00 buckshot, and slugs, with lead, bismuth, and tungsten loads all cleared. Steel shot is permitted only when you are not running the Full choke, since steel through a full constriction risks the tube. The BANISH 12 won Guns & Ammo Suppressor of the Year for 2025. The federal making and transfer tax on suppressors is $0, and since October 9, 2026 ATF no longer enforces Form 4 approval or NFA registration for suppressors; a dealer transfer still runs a 4473 and NICS check, and suppressor ownership remains legal in 42 states.
