SIG SLX556-QD Suppressor

The SIG SLX556-QD is SIG's flagship 5.56 NATO flow-through suppressor and the factory-aligned can for any MCX 5.56 host, particularly the Spear LT 11.5". The SLX line was designed around two specific problems traditional baffle 5.56 cans create on short-barrel piston rifles: excessive toxic-fume blowback through the ejection port into the shooter's face, and accelerated bolt-carrier cycling that beats up the action and increases felt recoil.

The internal multi-flow-path baffle design vents gas forward through the muzzle rather than back through the action, dropping toxic-fume blowback by an SIG-published 70-80% relative to a traditional baffle 5.56 can on the same host. Construction is full Inconel 718, the same alloy used in jet-engine hot sections, which handles full-auto sustained-fire heat better than the more common stainless or titanium. The trade-off is weight: at 19.4 oz the SLX556-QD is heavier than a titanium can like the SureFire SOCOM 5.56 RC2, but the Inconel construction means the can will not erode under the cycling rates a factory MCX produces.

Mounting is via the SIG Clutch-LOK QD system, which uses the same SL-pattern muzzle devices that ship factory on the MCX Spear LT, Virtus, and Rattler. This is a meaningful integration advantage: the factory MCX flash hider is already a Clutch-LOK mount, so installing the SLX556-QD is literally a quarter-turn QD attach, no muzzle-device swap required. SureFire SOCOM, AAC, and other competitors require a host-side muzzle-device change to mount.

The MSRP is $1,500 with street pricing typically $1,450-$1,550 at major NFA retailers. NFA item, requires ATF Form 4 and $200 tax stamp. The SLX556C-QD is a shorter sibling for shooters who prioritize length over absolute sound reduction.
