Overview

The SureFire SOCOM556-MINI4 puts the SOCOM-4 gas-flow design into a 5.5-inch, 15-ounce package. It adds 3 inches to a rifle with a compatible SureFire muzzle device, two ounces and 0.8 inch less than the full-size RC4. SureFire reports 142 dB at the shooter's ear with M855 from a 10.3-inch barrel and states that the longer RC4 is quieter.

The body is made entirely from Inconel using machined and 3D-printed parts joined by CNC laser welding. SureFire redesigned the front end to reduce flash seen from ahead of the muzzle and to better resist front-end impacts. The company claims 60 percent less back pressure than a conventional suppressor, but independent sound and gas data remain limited.

The MINI4 uses SureFire's tool-less Fast-Attach mount. It works with existing SOCOM Fast-Attach muzzle devices and is optimized for the SF3P, FH556RC, and open-tine WARCOMP. SureFire lists flash performance as optimized for barrels 10.3 inches and longer, making this the compact choice for shooters already invested in that mount system.
