DryFireMag
The over-travel-stop-compatible M&P unit, cut for M&P9 and M&P40 2.0 C.O.R.E. pistols that the standard version does not fit.
S&W's 2.0 C.O.R.E. pistols carry an over travel stop that the standard DryFireMag body does not clear, which is why this second version exists. It is the same mechanism otherwise: a spring-and-lever assembly inside the magazine catches the trigger and resets it, so you press and press again without racking the slide, at a simulated 5.5 to 6 pound factory pull.
Read the fitment as a fork, not a ladder. The standard D-M&P covers the ordinary polymer M&P9 and M&P40 line and explicitly excludes C.O.R.E. models. This unit covers M&P9 2.0 C.O.R.E. and M&P40 2.0 C.O.R.E. and nothing else. Buying the more expensive one does not buy broader coverage; it buys different coverage. Both exclude 10mm M&Ps and every metal-frame gun, so the M&P Metal and the Performance Center Competitor have no DryFireMag option at all.
If your slide is factory-cut for an optic and your pistol is an M2.0, C.O.R.E. is what you have and this is the unit that fits it. Like the rest of the standard line it takes no laser cartridge, so hit feedback comes from a separate device.
