Forged 7075-T6 AR-15 stripped upper receiver marked for .338 ARC, the receiver builders pair with a .338 ARC barrel for a build-your-own upper.
Faxon's Enhanced Forged .338 ARC stripped upper receiver is a forged 7075-T6 AR-15 upper marked specifically for Hornady's .338 ARC cartridge. It is a stripped receiver, so it arrives as just the anodized receiver body with no barrel, bolt carrier group, or small parts. This is the receiver a builder reaches for when assembling a .338 ARC upper from components rather than buying a complete upper.
Dimensionally it is a standard AR-15 forged upper, which means it accepts standard handguards, charging handles, and a mil-spec barrel nut. The natural pairing is a Faxon .338 ARC barrel and a 6.5 Grendel Type 2 bolt, since .338 ARC headspaces on the same .136 bolt face as 6.5 Grendel Type 2. Marking the receiver for the caliber removes the guesswork at the range and on the bench about what a given upper is chambered for.
At around $115 it is the value entry point for a from-scratch .338 ARC upper. Budget separately for the barrel, BCG, handguard, forward assist, and ejection-port cover; this receiver is the foundation, not a complete assembly.
