Lewis Machine & Tool
Monolithic Rail Platform upper machined from a single forging, with an integrated M-LOK handguard and a tool-minimal quick-change barrel system. Barrel sold separately.
LMT's Monolithic Rail Platform is the upper that built the company's military reputation. The receiver and full-length handguard are machined from a single 7075-T6 forging, eliminating the barrel-nut interface where a conventional handguard meets the upper. That one-piece construction is what makes the quick-change barrel system possible: two locking bolts on the right side release with a T-30 Torx, the barrel slides out, and a fresh one drops in and returns close to zero. A multi-caliber operator can run 5.56 in the morning and .300 Blackout in the afternoon on one upper.
The 9.25 in carbine platform accepts LMT proprietary monolithic barrels from 10.5 in to 16 in. The barrel is not included and standard mil-spec barrels do not fit, so budget for an LMT barrel assembly on top of the upper. M-LOK slots run all eight sides, with four QD sling points and a T-marked top rail.
The tradeoff is mass. At 35 oz the bare upper is heavier than a forged flat-top paired with a lightweight M-LOK handguard. For a builder who values barrel-swap flexibility, monolithic rigidity, and proven service durability, that weight is the price of entry; for a minimum-weight build it is the wrong tool.
