Short-stroke-piston 5.56 upper that feeds from STANAG magazines or M27 linked belts.

The Cloak Industries MFR56 converts a standard AR-15 lower into a dual-feed 5.56 rifle. Its top cover and feed mechanism accept M27 disintegrating links, while the magazine well remains usable with ordinary STANAG magazines. The complete upper uses a 16-inch quick-change CrMo barrel, a short-stroke piston, and a two-position gas block rather than a conventional direct-impingement operating system.
This is a conversion package, not just a barreled receiver. Cloak includes a 100-round plastic belt container, 100 M27 links with a starter tab, an H3 buffer and spring, extended bolt and magazine catches, flip-up sights, a sling, cleaning kit, and a double rifle bag. Cloak's product description lists the upper at 7.6 pounds and 25.5 inches long. The same page has a separate 20-pound value in its Additional information table without identifying that measurement basis.
The MFR56-specific assisted-reset trigger is a separate product. Cloak says the upper fits standard AR-15 lowers with minor changes, but the included buffer and lower controls should be treated as part of the conversion rather than optional extras. Capacity and assisted-reset-trigger restrictions vary by jurisdiction, so buyers need to verify current federal, state, and local rules before ordering.
