PSA Sabre 5.56 AK: WBP Parts Kit, Launches Sept. 25

Palmetto State Armory is adding a 5.56x45mm NATO rifle to the Sabre AK line. The new rifle combines Polish WBP core parts with a PSA barrel and the upgraded trigger, rail, furniture, and muzzle device that define the Sabre package. PSA says it launches Friday, September 25, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. Eastern.

This is more than a caliber swap on the current 7.62x39 Sabre AK. The WBP trunnion, bolt, carrier, rear sight assembly, and dust cover give the new rifle a different parts-kit foundation. The dimpled receiver and swell-neck rivets hold that core together, while PSA supplies the barrel and final feature set.

WBP supplies the locking and cycling parts that matter most: the trunnion, bolt, and carrier. It also supplies the rear sight assembly and dust cover. That makes the rifle a Polish-parts build around a PSA receiver and barrel, not a fully domestic 5.56 AK with a WBP magazine added at the end.

The current 7.62x39 Sabre AK uses Romanian parts-kit internals, so the new 5.56 rifle starts from a different country of origin and a different caliber-specific core. PSA adds a factory ALG trigger, a Soviet Arms M-LOK lower handguard, and a matching railed gas tube. The lower handguard and gas tube use a Burnt Bronze Cerakote finish. The receiver and barrel wear OD Green, while the B5 Systems pistol grip and stock assembly use RAL 8000 brown. The colors make the rifle easy to identify, but the rail and trigger are the parts that change how it handles.

The rear trunnion accepts a side-folding stock and lets owners swap to other locking side-folding configurations. The included B5 stock keeps the familiar adjustable shape of an AR-style stock while the folding trunnion shortens the rifle for storage and transport.

The 16-inch barrel gives the rifle a standard carbine-length setup without adding the short-barrel rules that come with a compact AK. PSA makes the barrel in house, cold-hammer forges it, and chrome lines the bore. The launch video also shows the rifle firing both with and without a suppressor.

PSA describes the muzzle device as Plan B-compatible. That defines the mounting family, but it does not make every suppressor setup an automatic fit. Owners still need to check the suppressor and adapter specifications and verify bore alignment. PSA has not yet published a broader magazine compatibility list. That matters because 5.56 AK magazines are not one universal standard. The confirmed fit is the WBP 5.56 magazine included with the rifle; buyers should wait for PSA's model-specific list before ordering other magazines in quantity.
