Overview
BCM's Standard 12.5" Carbine barrel fills the compact 5.56 slot between CQB 10.3/11.5" barrels and pin-and-weld 13.7/14.5" builds. The barrel uses 11595E CMV steel, a chrome-lined bore and chamber, manganese phosphate exterior finish, M4 feed ramps, and BCM's HP/MPI inspection process.
The 12.5" length gives a short gun a little more dwell time and velocity than the shortest CQB barrels while keeping the front end compact. The carbine gas system and .750" journal accept common low-profile gas blocks, and the barrel is light enough for a general-purpose SBR or pistol that still needs reliable 5.56 performance.
