Criterion
Criterion balances government and pencil contours for soft recoil without losing cold-bore precision. Hand-lapped bores and chrome lining hold tight groups.
The Criterion CORE Series barrel represents a modern approach to AR-15 barrel design, addressing traditional weight distribution issues while maintaining match-grade accuracy standards. Built with tactical shooters in mind, the CORE profile features a continuous taper design that eliminates the steps and harsh diameter variations found in government or pencil profiles, resulting in more consistent harmonics and uniform heat dissipation across the barrel.
Manufactured from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium steel with a hand-lapped chrome-lined bore, these barrels deliver exceptional durability without sacrificing precision. The chrome lining provides extended service life and corrosion resistance, while the .223 Wylde chamber ensures compatibility with both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition. The extended .750" gas journal is pre-dimpled for easy gas block alignment and provides improved suppressor compatibility compared to standard .625" journals.
In real-world testing, users consistently report sub-MOA accuracy with match ammunition, with groups typically running 0.8-0.9 MOA using 77gr projectiles. The barrel maintains accuracy even when heated, with minimal point-of-impact shift after 60+ rounds fired rapidly. Velocity performance is impressive for the barrel length, with 13.9" barrels achieving 3,059 FPS with 55gr ammunition and 2,747 FPS with 77gr loads.
