The Faxon Gen2 .308 BCG is the bolt carrier group for an 8.6 Blackout build, and it clears up the most common misconception about the cartridge: 8.6 Blackout does not need a special bolt. Unlike .338 ARC, which requires a 6.5 Grendel Type 2 bolt face, 8.6 Blackout is a necked-up 6.5 Creedmoor case and headspaces on the standard .308 bolt face. Any quality AR-10/DPMS-pattern .308 BCG runs it; Faxon explicitly rates this one for .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, and 8.6 Blackout.

The bolt is machined from 9310 steel, the standard for AR bolts, and is high-pressure tested and magnetic-particle inspected to catch flaws before they become failures. The full-mass carrier and salt bath nitride finish give it the durability and easy cleaning that suppressed subsonic shooting demands, where carbon and unburned powder build up faster than with supersonic loads.
