AVS Detachable Chest Rig

The Crye Precision AVS Detachable Chest Rig is the premium answer to "what if my chest rig could also carry a plate." The front pouch accepts a small to extra-large ballistic plate, converting the rig from a 4-mag chest rig into a one-plate front-only carrier. Pair the front-plate configuration with a back plate carrier and you have a two-plate setup; run it solo and you have armored chest carriage without a full plate carrier silhouette.

Capacity is sized around Crye's loadout philosophy: each front pouch carries two 5.56 mags, or one 7.62 mag, or one MBITR radio. Two integrated pistol pockets per side handle pistol magazines or small admin items. The 6x6 side plate pockets are designed for soft armor inserts or trauma pads — not rifle plates.

Construction is the Crye standard: made in USA from US materials, the same MIL-SPEC nylon and laminate that anchors the rest of the AVS line. The rig integrates with every other AVS component — the AVS plate bag, the AVS harness, the AVS pouch line — so a Crye buyer can buy this chest rig now and expand into a full AVS plate carrier system over time without ever buying redundant gear.

The full-length front zipper allows don/doff while fully loaded, including over body armor. The system is one-size-fits-all with extensive harness adjustment. Crye sells direct; OpticsPlanet does not stock the Detachable Chest Rig (different from the AVS 1000 Pack and the Roll-Up Chest Rig variants Crye also produces).
