Manticore Arms Hellion Enhanced Bolt Release

The factory Springfield Hellion bolt release is small, recessed, and easy to miss when running bullpup-style speed reloads with the firing hand reaching back to the magwell. The Manticore Arms Hellion Enhanced Bolt Release is a 6061 billet aluminum drop-in replacement that doubles both the height and surface area of the engagement face. The result is positive operation under stress and on the move, with a hand-bump installation rather than a finger-pinch operation.

The larger release also acts as a guard for the magazine release button immediately above it, which reduces accidental mag drops during heavy support-hand pressure on the rifle. Once the magazine is seated, a quick slap back with the thumb releases the bolt and chambers a round, which is the same manual of arms most AR-15 shooters already use.

Manticore manufactures the part in the USA from 6061 aluminum with milspec black anodize. It carries Manticore part number MA-38100 and is stocked at OpticsPlanet for around $64. Installation is drop-in with the existing factory pin, no fitting or smith work required.
