Reptilia
Vertical pistol grip with swappable backstrap and palm-shelf options for fine-tuning hand fit
The Reptilia CQG (Close Quarters Grip) is a near-vertical AR pistol grip built around modern fighting technique. The grip body sits at roughly 15 degrees, between the BCM Mod 3's reduced angle and the B5 Type 23's 13-degree near-vertical, and pairs that angle with a thinner overall profile than most aftermarket grips. The slim body is the practical advantage on enclosed lower receivers like KAC SR-15, Knight's Armament, and similar high-end lowers where a thicker grip can interfere with the magwell flare or rear takedown pin.
The CQG ships in two main variants and a backstrap option: a Standard tang for normal receivers, a Long tang for ARs with an enlarged trigger guard, and a No Backstrap variant that runs the grip body without a beavertail for shooters who want the lowest profile possible. Texture is a smooth, repeated pattern that grips bare hands without abrading them and works equally well with gloves. The body accepts a standard AR grip screw and washer for installation.
At $20-23 through OpticsPlanet, the CQG sits in the same value-tier price band as the Magpul MOE and BCM Mod 3 but with a different design philosophy: thinner profile, near-vertical pitch, and intentional compatibility with the receivers shooters most often pair with it. If you run a KAC, Knight's, or other premium enclosed lower, the CQG is the grip that was designed for it.
