Overview

The ATACR 4-16x42 F1 is the Nightforce answer for shooters who want ATACR mechanicals without the heft of the 7-35x flagship. At 30 ounces and 12.6 inches it lands closer to a hunting scope than a competition optic, but the 34mm tube delivers 26 MRAD of elevation and the ZeroHold turret system tracks with the same authority as the bigger ATACRs.

Reticle choice covers the spread from simple to dense: MIL-R F1 and MOAR F1 for hunters who want quick holds, MIL-XT and MOA-XT for match shooters who want tighter tree subtensions, and Horus TReMoR3 for the wind-on-target crowd. The 42mm objective accepts low rings on a hunting rifle and keeps the optic on-axis for fast cheek weld, the 4x bottom magnification handles 100-yard stands cleanly, and the 16x top end is more than enough for 1,000-yard work in field conditions.

Where the ATACR 4-16x42 F1 wins over heavier 5-25x or 6-36x glass is on a rifle that you actually carry. PRS shooters who already own a 7-35x ATACR or Razor 6-36 will not switch to this one, but for a long-range hunting rifle, a precision SPR, or a do-it-all 6.5 Creedmoor that needs to ride in a scabbard, it is the ATACR that fits.
