Thermal-only binocular with a 1280x1024 sensor, 17.5-degree view, and a 1500 m laser rangefinder
The Pulsar Merger LRF XT50 is the top thermal-only model in Pulsar's Merger binocular line. It uses a European-made 1280x1024, 12-micron sensor with system NETD below 20 mK behind a 50mm F1.0 lens, giving a 17.5 x 14 degree field of view (30.7 x 24 m at 100 m) and 2-16x magnification. The image is shown on a 1280x960 HD AMOLED display through two eyepieces, so both eyes stay on the scene during long glassing sessions.
A 905 nm laser rangefinder measures to 1500 m at plus or minus 1 m in single or scan mode. Power comes from a combined system: a removable 3200 mAh APS3 pack plus a 4000 mAh built-in cell, rated for up to 6 hours, with 5 V USB-C external power. The magnesium alloy housing weighs 0.95 kg with batteries, is IPX7 rated, and carries a 1/4 inch socket for tripod use. Recording goes to 64 GB at 1280x960, and Stream Vision 2 handles streaming and control over 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi.
The Merger LRF XT50 shares its sensor, lens, field of view, and rangefinder reach with the Symbion LRF DXT50, but it has no 4K color/IR digital channel. For buyers who only need heat detection, that trade puts the same thermal core in a lighter body at a lower price.
