The Vortex Diamondback 2-7x35 Rimfire is built for a .22 rifle used in the woods or at a general-purpose range. Its 2-7x magnification, fixed 50-yard parallax setting, 35mm objective, and V-Plex reticle put the optical setup around common rimfire distances. At 2x, the field of view is 64.3 feet at 100 yards; at 7x, it is 19.3 feet. The scope is 11.6 inches long and weighs 13.7 ounces.
The V-Plex reticle sits in the second focal plane and provides a simple hunting sight picture without ballistic or wind-hold marks. Capped turrets adjust in 1/4 MOA clicks, with 15 MOA per rotation and 100 MOA of maximum elevation and windage adjustment. The fixed 50-yard parallax removes a focus control, but it cannot be tuned for very close targets or longer-range precision work.
Vortex builds the one-piece 1-inch tube from aircraft-grade aluminum with a low-glare matte black anodized finish. The lenses are fully multi-coated, and the scope is argon purged and O-ring sealed for waterproof and fogproof performance. Vortex lists removable lens covers and a lens cloth in the box, but not rings, and covers the scope with its unlimited, unconditional lifetime warranty.
