Crye Precision
Crye's modular armor-carrier system. AVS Standard Plate Pouch Set + Harness combines into one of the deepest accessory backbones in the carrier market.
The Crye AVS is the most modular plate carrier on the civilian market. Crye sells it as a system rather than a complete carrier: a Standard Plate Pouch Set, an AVS Harness, and any of a dozen accessory bags that zip or bolt on. Buy the front plate pouch with a 6x9 side plate carrier, pair it with the 2-band Harness for a low-profile fit, and you have a slick AVS. Add the Cobra Flap and an AVS 1000 Pack and you have a full sustainment loadout in the same chassis.
That modularity is also the AVS's main friction point. The $715 entry price covers only the Plate Pouch Set and the Harness — adding a flap, side plates, the 1000 Pack, or a Standard back panel pushes a working configuration past $1,000. Crye-tier construction earns the premium, but buyers shopping on price land at the JPC 2.0 or a Spiritus LV-120 instead.
The AVS Harness is the load-bearing core of the system, while Crye's separate 2-band and 3-band cummerbund options let the buyer tune side support for slick or heavier loadouts. Flaps and back panels in the AVS ecosystem are selected separately, which is why the AVS rewards careful configuration more than impulse buying.
The AVS is sold direct through Crye and through Crye dealers like OpTactical, Hill People Gear, and US Elite. OpticsPlanet stocks some AVS components but rarely the complete configurations.
