CZ Bren 2 Ms 16.5" Rifle

The CZ Bren 2 MS in 16.5-inch carbine configuration delivers the full potential of the Bren 2 platform with maximum velocity and range while maintaining the compactness of a folding design. CZ's current catalog lists the carbine in 5.56x45mm with a 16.5-inch barrel, 1/2x28 muzzle thread, long interchangeable forend, extended folding/telescopic stock with raised comb, and 7.3-pound weight without magazine.

The 16.5-inch cold-hammer-forged barrel with 1:7 twist stabilizes the full range of 5.56 NATO projectiles from 55 to 77 grains. The three-position gas system (normal, adverse, manual) allows tuning for suppressed use or adverse conditions. CZ's engineers positioned all controls for true bilateral operation: safety selector above the pistol grip for either thumb, magazine release in AR-15 position on right with secondary release on left magazine housing, and bolt catch/release accessible from both sides. The folding/telescopic stock keeps the rifle compact for transport, and the raised comb helps the sight line with modern optics.

Performance testing reveals why reviewers describe the Bren 2 as one of the slickest-running non-AR piston rifles in the class. The carbine's 16.5-inch barrel gives 5.56 the velocity it wants, while the folding stock keeps transport length down to 28.3 inches. The Bren 2 MS carbine is premium territory, but it is the current factory rifle configuration for shooters who want the platform without pistol-brace or SBR decisions.
