Overview

The Glock 20 Gen5 MOS is the current factory optic-ready version of Glock's full-size 10mm. It keeps the 15-round magazine, 4.61-inch barrel, and proven large-frame Glock operating system, then adds the Gen5 feature set: nDLC finish, front slide serrations, ambidextrous slide stop, reversible magazine catch, updated frame texture, and the MOS optic-mounting slide cut.

The G20 remains the default 10mm recommendation because its support ecosystem is still the deepest in the caliber. Magazines, chest holsters, weapon lights, optic plates, sights, and match barrels are easier to source than they are for most competing 10mm pistols. For backcountry carry, the 15+1 capacity and 4.61-inch barrel make it a practical alternative to a heavy magnum revolver while keeping reloads fast.

The MOS system is convenient rather than perfect: serious optic users should install the plate correctly with thread locker or use a quality aftermarket plate. Buyers who do not need an optic can still shop older G20 variants, but the Gen5 MOS is the cleaner current buy for anyone building a modern 10mm pistol.
