Overview

The HK CC9 is HK's first true micro-compact and the company's first pistol designed and manufactured in the United States. It took seven years and over 750,000 rounds of development testing to land on a 6.03-inch, sub-one-inch-wide double stack that ships with a 10-round flush magazine and a 12-round extended magazine in every box. At 19.7 ounces with the empty flush mag, it sits between the SIG P365 (17.8 oz) and the Glock 43X (18.7 oz), but it carries a heavier reputation for cold-hammer-forged barrels, polygonal rifling, and DLC-coated metal that HK has built across the VP9 and USP families.

The 3.32-inch barrel is +P rated, and the slide carries a Shield RMSc optic cut milled directly into the steel rather than a bolt-on adapter plate, which keeps the optic close to the bore axis and removes the most common failure point on the P365 and Hellcat optic systems. The factory irons are a tritium high-visibility front and a serrated, blacked-out rear, co-witnessed with the Holosun 407K, 507K, RMSc, and EPS Carry red dots that share the cut. The frame uses HK's serialized chassis architecture with interchangeable small and large backstraps and ambidextrous slide stop and magazine release, and the trigger breaks at roughly 5 pounds with a tactile, audible reset.

For 2026 the CC9 is the cleanest factory micro-compact configuration on the market: optic ready out of the box without an adapter, ambidextrous controls without aftermarket parts, +P-rated barrel, and a 12-round extended mag in the original purchase. The tradeoffs are a brand-new magazine pattern that is not cross-compatible with the VP9 family, a thin holster ecosystem at launch, and no factory threaded barrel for suppressor users.

Key Features

  • Shield RMSc optic cut milled directly into the slide
  • 3.32 inch cold hammer-forged barrel with polygonal rifling, +P rated
  • 10-round flush and 12-round extended magazines included
  • Tritium high-visibility front sight, serrated blacked-out rear
  • Modular polymer frame with serialized chassis and interchangeable backstraps
  • Ambidextrous slide stop and magazine release
  • Matte black DLC finish on slide and barrel
  • Subcompact accessory rail for micro lights and lasers

Pros

  • +Direct-milled RMSc cut avoids the adapter-plate failures common on competitor micro-compacts
  • +Both flush and extended magazines included from the factory
  • +Ambidextrous controls and modular chassis are factory standard, not paid upgrades
  • +DLC-coated cold hammer-forged barrel rated for +P at $699 MSRP
  • +U.S. manufacturing puts the CC9 at price parity with P365 and Hellcat optic-ready variants

Cons

  • New magazine pattern, no cross-compatibility with the VP9 family
  • Thin holster and aftermarket support at launch versus the P365 ecosystem
  • No factory threaded barrel option for suppressor users
  • Subcompact rail accepts micro lights only, not full-size pistol lights like the X300
  • Optic cut is RMSc-only, will not host larger Holosun 507C or Trijicon RMR footprints
