The HK SP5 is the real thing: a civilian-legal MP5 built on Heckler & Koch's Oberndorf production line, alongside the guns issued to military and police units worldwide. It uses the same roller-delayed blowback system as the select-fire MP5 but ships as a semi-automatic pistol. The roller-delayed action and fluted chamber give it the softest recoil and most reliable extraction in the 9mm carbine class, even when running suppressed or dirty. It keeps the authentic MP5 controls, the ambidextrous paddle magazine release and the Navy-style diopter drum rear sight, and ships with a 1/2x28 threaded Navy barrel plus a tri-lug adapter for HK-pattern quick-attach suppressors. The standard SP5 wears the classic slim handguard with no optic rail from the factory; HK and the aftermarket sell mounting solutions separately.
