The Vortex Strike Eagle 3-18x44 FFP covers the middle between the Strike Eagle 1-8x carbine optic and the larger 5-25x56 precision scope. The 3x low end suits supported close and midrange shooting, while 18x provides enough detail for small targets and corrections at distance.
The EBR-7C MRAD reticle sits in the first focal plane, so its holds remain valid throughout the zoom range. The exposed elevation turret locks and uses Vortex's RevStop zero system. Windage stays capped. The 34mm tube provides 45 MRAD of elevation travel, with 19.4 MRAD available when the RevStop is installed.
At 26.6 ounces without the battery and 13.3 inches long, this scope is easier to balance on a field rifle than the 30.4-ounce 5-25x56 model. It still requires a 34mm mount and a supported position to make full use of 18x.
