Savage 110 Ultralite Pro

The 110 Ultralite Pro is Savage's answer to the question of what a carbon-barreled hunting rifle should cost. The barrel is carbon fiber, the receiver is skeletonized and Blackout Cerakoted, the bolt body is diamond fluted with a threaded bolt handle, and the whole rifle comes in at 6.78 pounds in the short-action chamberings and 6.93 pounds in the long actions. That undercuts most steel-barreled hunting bolt guns in the same price class, and it adds a detachable AICS magazine and a factory optics rail that many of them leave to the buyer.

What separates the Pro from the rest of the Ultralite family is the stock. AccuFit V2 changes length of pull and comb height without tools, so you can set the rifle up for a heavy jacket in November and drop the comb back for a summer range session in about a minute. The grip modules swap out, and M-LOK panels in the forend take a bipod, a sling stud, or a tripod adapter without drilling anything. The rail is a one-piece 20 MOA Picatinny, which matters more on a hunting rifle than most buyers expect: a 20 MOA base gives back the elevation a hunting scope runs out of at distance, and getting it from the factory removes an accessory base purchase.

The chambering list is unusually wide for a rifle at this price. Standard SKUs cover 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 Win, .270 Win, and .30-06 Sprg at 20 inches; the magnums add 6.5 PRC, 6.8 Western, 7mm PRC, .300 WSM, and .300 Win Mag; .300 PRC steps up to a 24-inch barrel, 7.37 pounds, and a 5-round magazine where the rest of the line runs 3. Savage also lists 22 Creedmoor, 6mm Creedmoor, and 7mm Backcountry SKUs, and every chambering is cataloged in a left-hand version, which is rarer than it should be at this tier.
