Overview

The P211-GTO Combat is SIG's answer to the 2011 magazine problem from the opposite direction Staccato took. Where the HD P4 and HD C4X feed from Glock magazines, the P211 runs P320 mags. That matters because P320 mags are already in service with the U.S. Army (M17/M18), countless police departments, and most large American gun stores carry them in stock. The 23-round extended mag that ships with the gun is the same magazine Sig sells for the M17.

The Mach3D compensator is the technical highlight. SIG used additive manufacturing (metal 3D printing) to design gas porting that would be impossible to machine conventionally. Independent testing puts the P211 among the flattest-shooting double-stack 9mm pistols on the market, with measurably less muzzle rise than fixed-comp competitors. The 4.4" bull barrel and full-size 8.5" overall length still make this a duty-and-competition gun, not a carry piece.

The P211-GTO Combat sits at the price floor for factory 2011 platforms with comp barrels. At $2,399 MSRP without optic, it undercuts the Staccato HD P4 ($2,499) by $100 and the HD C4X ($3,499) by $1,100, while delivering a feature set, P320 mag compatibility, integrated comp, SIG-LOC PRO optic cut, that competes directly with both. The trade-off is brand-new platform risk: SIG's 1911-pattern guns don't have Staccato's track record yet, and the SIG-LOC PRO footprint requires adapter plates for non-Romeo optics. Calculated Kinetics already ships RMR and EPS Carry plates for the P211.
