Overview

The Taurus G2c is the predecessor to the G3c and the cheapest credible compact 9mm on the US market at $230 street. The G2c stays in active production alongside the newer G3c because it sells well at its price point and fits a customer who wants a reliable defensive 9mm at the lowest possible total cost.

Mechanically, the G2c is similar to the G3c with a slightly shorter slide profile, polymer factory sights with steel rear (drift-adjustable for windage), and the same single-action striker with restrike capability. The G2c does NOT have a Picatinny rail (some early variants had a small rail, current production omits it on most SKUs — verify before assuming a light fits). The trigger is similar to the G3c with a long take-up and a 5 to 6 lb pull weight.

Aftermarket cross-fit: most G3c parts also fit the G2c, including Galloway Precision spring kits, M*Carbo trigger components, Strike Industries +5 base plates, and Meprolight Hyper-Bright sight sets (the 465513-series SKU specifically lists G2/G2C/G3 fitment). Holster fitment is largely shared too — most G3c holster molds also accommodate the G2c slide profile, but verify with the manufacturer before purchase.
