Overview

The Taurus RPC is the second roller-delayed 9mm PDW to hit the US market under $1,200, debuted at NRAAM 2026 and undercutting the Springfield Kuna by roughly $200. Taurus and Heritage Manufacturing parent company describes it as "an MP5K for the people," and the comparison is honest. The RPC pairs roller-delayed operation with a 4.5-inch quick-change threaded barrel, full-length Picatinny top rail, M-LOK handguard, and a 12.2-inch overall length that rivals the smallest factory PCCs in production.

Construction uses an aluminum chassis with steel components where strength matters. Controls are fully ambidextrous: bilateral safety selectors, bolt release and lock, magazine release, and a reversible non-reciprocating charging handle. The pistol grip is AR-pattern compatible, which means any aftermarket AR-15 grip drops in. Three quick-detach sling sockets are integrated into the chassis. The platform ships optics-ready with no integrated sights, an unusual choice that reflects Taurus expecting buyers to mount a red dot from day one.

The RPC ships with two 32-round proprietary magazines. Magazine compatibility is the platform's biggest open question. The Taurus mags are not cross-compatible with Glock, MP5, CZ Scorpion, or Kuna patterns, and aftermarket support has not arrived yet. As a NRAAM 2026 launch, the platform is too new to have a real aftermarket or long-term reliability track record. For shooters who want roller-delayed action at the lowest current price point and are willing to be early adopters on a Brazilian-built platform, the RPC is the most aggressive value play in the segment.
