Overview
The PTR VENT 1 is a full-size .30-caliber rifle suppressor built as one monolithic piece of 3D-printed titanium. PTR's Purposely Induced Porosity (PIP) technology uses controlled porous structures and gas pathways to manage expanding gases. PTR lists the can at 8.74 inches long, 1.75 inches in diameter, and 12.3 ounces without a mount, with a black PVD finish. PTR rates it for limited full-auto fire: 90 to 120 rounds in bursts, followed by a 10-minute cooldown to ambient temperature.
Sound performance is where it stands apart. PEW Science measured an 81.5 Suppression Rating with the included direct-thread mount on an 8-inch .300 Blackout Q mini FIX bolt-action host firing Discreet Ballistics 190gr subsonic ammunition, against 72.3 for the CGS Hyperion on the same host and load. On a 20-inch .308 bolt gun with supersonic ammunition it rated 57.3.
The rear of the can is a 1.375x24 HUB thread, and PTR includes a 5/8x24 direct-thread adapter, so it runs on a standard .30-caliber muzzle out of the box and moves to other HUB mounts later. PTR rates it for 7.62x51 NATO, .308 Winchester, and .300 Blackout only. It recommends a 14-inch barrel for 7.62x51, accepts 12.5 inches with reduced suppressor lifespan, and specifies no minimum barrel length for .300 BLK.
