Overview

The Garmin Xero C1 Pro replaced the skyscreen chronograph and the original LabRadar in one product. Sit it beside the shooter, point it downrange, and it reads bullets, arrows, slugs, airsoft BBs, pellets, and paintballs from 100 to 5,000 fps. There is no muzzle blast trigger to fool, no sun-angle dance, no ten-shot string lost to a low chrono read. The unit measures 2.38 by 3 by 1.35 inches, weighs about 3.5 ounces, and fits in a back pocket. Battery is good for 2,000 shots or six hours of continuous use, and the housing is IPX7 water resistant.

Key Features

  • Doppler radar reads through suppressors, brakes, comps, and arrow rests
  • 0.1 percent claimed accuracy validated against optical and LabRadar in independent testing
  • ShotView app over Bluetooth for shot strings, ES, SD, average velocity, and ballistic input
  • Onboard display shows velocity, ES, SD, and shot count without a phone
  • Tripod mount on the bottom; works with any standard photo tripod

Pros

  • +Smallest, lightest, easiest-to-set-up chronograph in the price class
  • +Reads suppressed and braked rifles without muzzle-blast triggering issues
  • +ShotView export to ballistics apps closes the load-dev loop fast
  • +Garmin reliability and warranty support

Cons

  • Sampling tops out around one shot every two seconds; rapid fire confuses it
  • Locked into the Garmin ecosystem if you want smartwatch integration
  • $499 stings if you only chrono twice a year
