BCM's cold hammer forged 14.5" Government-profile barrel with mid-length gas. The duty-grade carbine barrel for a pin-and-weld 16" or an SBR build.
BCM's BFH 14.5" Mid-Length is the barrel most clone and duty-carbine builders reach for when they want the 14.5" length with a softer-shooting gas system. The bore is cold hammer forged from MIL-B-11595E CMV steel, chrome lined in both bore and chamber for service life and suppressed use, and finished with manganese phosphate outside. Every barrel is high-pressure proof tested and magnetic particle inspected, the same QC BCM applies to its complete uppers.
The mid-length gas system at 14.5" is the practical sweet spot: longer dwell time than a carbine-gas 14.5" barrel means lower port pressure, less felt recoil, and gentler bolt timing. The .750" gas journal accepts a standard low-profile gas block, and the muzzle is threaded 1/2x28 for any common 5.56 device.
Two paths to legal length: pin and weld a 1.5"-or-longer muzzle device to reach a permanent 16" barrel length, or run the 14.5" as a registered SBR or pistol. The BFH designation is the cold hammer forged line; BCM's button-rifled Standard 14.5" mid-length is the lower-cost option when the BFH is out of stock.
Add the BCM BFH 14.5" Mid-Length 5.56 Barrel to your build and see how it enhances your platform.
