Faxon Firearms
Ultra-compact 7.5" PDW barrel for maximum concealability. Gunner profile in 4150 CMV with QPQ nitride. Trades ~100-150 fps vs 9" for the most compact .300BLK package possible.
The Faxon 7.5" .300 Blackout Gunner barrel pushes the compact envelope for .300BLK builds, delivering the shortest practical barrel length for shooters who prioritize maximum concealability and minimum overall weapon length. At 7.5 inches, this barrel sacrifices approximately 100-150 fps compared to the optimal 9" length, but the trade-off buys you a meaningfully more compact package for vehicle guns, PDW builds, and dedicated close-quarters platforms.
The physics of .300 Blackout at 7.5 inches are straightforward: you'll see slightly more unburned powder exiting the muzzle, which translates to increased flash signature (particularly with supersonic loads) and marginally more back-pressure for suppressors to manage. That said, .300 Blackout was specifically designed for short barrels, and 7.5 inches still delivers substantially better terminal performance than 5.56 NATO from a barrel of any length. With subsonic ammunition, the velocity difference is negligible and the suppressed signature remains excellent.
Faxon's Gunner profile keeps weight to approximately 1.0 pound — among the lightest .300BLK barrels available — by using a hybrid taper between pencil and government profiles. The 4150 CMV steel with QPQ nitride finish provides excellent durability and corrosion resistance, and the 1:7 twist rate handles the full weight range of .300BLK projectiles. For dedicated subsonic/suppressed applications or builds where every fraction of an inch matters, this barrel delivers the most compact .300 Blackout platform possible without resorting to exotic barrel lengths that create reliability issues.
