The Rosco K9 11.5" Kinetic Consulting barrel is a 416R stainless 5.56 NATO barrel with a nitride finish on both the barrel and the barrel extension, made from bar stock at Rosco's Rhode Island shop. It runs a 1:7 twist, 1/2x28 muzzle threads, a .750" gas journal, and a recessed target crown, and it weighs 25.47 oz.
The defining spec is the gas system. Rosco cuts the K9 11.5 for its proprietary Patrol length, which Rosco positions as smoother than carbine gas and more reliable than mid-length on a short barrel. Because no standard tube matches that port location, the barrel ships with its own Patrol-length gas tube; the gas block is a separate purchase. Rosco recommends a handguard of at least 10 inches to clear the gas block position.
The K9 continuous taper keeps material toward the chamber end, so at 25.47 oz the barrel is heavier than a Government-profile 11.5" such as the Daniel Defense CHF. The trade against chrome-lined cold hammer forged barrels like the Daniel Defense and BCM BFH is steel: nitrided 416R stainless is the accuracy-leaning choice, while chrome-lined CMV holds up longer under sustained high-volume fire.
