IonBond DLC lets the carrier wipe clean and operate with little lubricant, and this model pairs a black DLC 9310 bolt with an FDE DLC 8620 carrier.
The full-auto-style carrier uses a 4130 steel gas key staked with Michiguns OCKS screws. The firing pin is hard-chrome-ground 8740 steel, while the extractor and cam pin are 4140 steel. Walker Defense Research lists true mil-spec dimensions, a properly staked gas key, and both high-pressure and magnetic-particle inspection for the bolt.
The FDE color is a cosmetic match for FDE furniture rather than a performance feature. DLC is an applied film on the outside, so the underlying steel and heat treatment still carry the durability load.
