Geissele
Ambidextrous .308/7.62 charging handle with a raised rear lip that seals the channel against suppressor gas
+2 more
The Geissele Super Charging Handle 762 is the large-frame version of the SCH, built around the same problem the 5.56 model solves: suppressor gas blowback pushed back through the charging-handle channel into the shooter's face. The raised rear lip extends up and over the opening to cap the channel, and on a .308 AR-10 that matters more than on a 5.56 carbine because the larger gas system and heavier carrier drive a stronger gas impulse. This is the 05-476B part, sized for the wider .308/7.62 charging-handle channel of SR-25, DPMS, and LR-308 uppers.
Machined from solid 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in Type III hardcoat anodizing, the SCH 762 is fully ambidextrous with extended levers you can run under an optic and with gloves. The .308 charging-handle channel is shared across DPMS and Armalite uppers, so this handle is cross-pattern within the AR-10 family even though their handguards and barrel nuts are not. At roughly 1.8 ounces the added mass goes into the reinforced rear lip and dual-lever geometry rather than dead weight.
At $135 the SCH 762 is the value pick in the gas-mitigating large-frame charging-handle tier, undercutting most premium suppressor-focused handles while delivering the same channel-sealing benefit. It is the right choice for a suppressed AR-10 or a short-barreled .308 where blowback is the daily annoyance and ambidextrous control is non-negotiable.
