JP Enterprises JPGS-11D2 Adjustable Gas System

The JP Enterprises JPGS-11D2 is the .750 inch bore variant of JP's current-generation D2 Series adjustable gas system. JP pioneered the adjustable gas block on the AR platform, and the D2 Series is their answer to two long-standing complaints about adjustable blocks: settings that walk under sustained fire, and installation that requires pulling the barrel. The two-piece body splits at the bore, so the block clamps onto an already-installed barrel without disassembly. Detent click adjustment from the front of the block gives positive, repeatable feedback, and a secondary tensioning screw can be torqued down against the adjustment screw to lock the setting in place.

The D2 line ships in three journal sizes: .625 (JPGS-13D2, $159.95), .750 (JPGS-11D2, $149.95), and .875 (JPGS-12D2, $159.95). All three use black stainless steel construction with JP's standard finish, and JP backs them with the same compatibility guarantee they apply to their barrels and handguards. JP explicitly notes that compatibility with non-JP components is the buyer's responsibility, which is consistent across high-end AR component makers but worth flagging: verify your handguard ID will clear 1.0 inch outer diameter before ordering.

The JPGS-11D2 is the right choice for precision and competition AR-15s where the shooter tunes for a specific load and wants the setting to stay put through long strings. It is less suited for shooters who swap suppressed and unsuppressed configurations on the same range trip, where the side-adjustable SLR Sentry 7 or finger-adjustable Riflespeed deliver faster retuning. JP also still sells the older JPGS-5D ($79.95) as a single-piece .750 inch block for cost-conscious buyers, though without the D2 Series anti-migration feature.
