The Midwest Industries low-profile gas block separates itself from the commodity field with three set screws instead of the usual two. The third screw adds a clamping point on the journal, which improves retention under heat cycling and recoil without the cost or bulk of a full clamp-on design. On a set-screw block, more bearing points spread the load and reduce the chance of a screw walking loose on a high-round-count host.
The block is machined from 4140 steel with a black finish and comes in .625, .750, and .936 journal sizes, covering standard barrels, lightweight profiles, and heavy or piston barrels that need the larger bore. As a fixed block it does not meter gas, so a suppressed or short-barrel host still leans on a restricting tube or heavier buffer to balance.
For builders who like set-screw simplicity but want more retention than a two-screw block gives, the three-screw MI block is the practical middle ground between commodity blocks and clamp-on designs. Match the journal size to your barrel shoulder before ordering.
