The 8.8 x 7.0 degree field of view (15 x 12 m at 100 m) is narrower than wide-angle scanners, which suits observers who watch distant fields rather than sweep close brush.
It shares the QUEST platform with the 1280-class S50R: dual 1920x1200 AMOLED displays, 25 mm eye relief, a 10 mm exit pupil, a concealed laser rangefinder rated to 1000 m, electronic image stabilization, Reality+ processing, and an internal battery backed by a replaceable 18650 cell. The housing is rubber coated and IP67 rated. Nocpix rates the H50R and S50R at 2600 m detection.
