Overview

The Mars Trigger Pulse22 is the only forced reset trigger built for a rimfire pistol, and it transforms the Taurus TX22 into the fastest-cycling .22 LR handgun on the market. The Pulse22 replaces the factory disconnector with a precision-machined 316 stainless steel disconnector that uses slide motion to mechanically reset the trigger after every shot. The shooter still pulls the trigger once per round (this is not a binary or auto trigger), so the Pulse22 stays inside ATF semi-auto definitions while delivering a split-time experience that feels closer to a 9mm race gun than a .22 plinker.

Installation is genuinely drop-in. The Pulse22 is a single-part swap, no fitting, no fitting-screw torque spec, no permanent modification. Field-strip the TX22 the way the manual describes, drift out the trigger pin, lift the factory disconnector out of the trigger pack, drop the Pulse22 in, reinstall the pin, and reassemble. Total install time is under five minutes with a punch and a soft mat. The disconnector is the only part that changes, so reverting the gun to factory configuration is a five-minute swap in the other direction.

The Pulse22 fits the original TX22, TX22 Compact, TX22 Competition, and TX22 T.O.R.O. across every generation Taurus has produced. Mars publishes compatibility for 2TX22, 2TX22C, TX22, and TX22C variants. The trigger is sensitive to back-pressure: certain suppressor and ammunition combinations can prevent the slide from cycling far enough to engage the forced reset, in which case the pistol continues to function in standard semi-auto mode. Test the FRT unsuppressed first with the ammunition you plan to run, then add the suppressor and retest. CCI Mini-Mags, Federal Champion, and Aguila SuperExtra all run reliably in the Pulse22 in unsuppressed testing.

Key Features

  • Forced reset trigger drops into the factory TX22 trigger pack
  • Single-part swap, no permanent modifications, fully reversible
  • 316 stainless steel, precision laser-cut for dimensional accuracy
  • One trigger pull per round (semi-auto compliant)
  • Fits TX22, TX22 Compact, TX22 Competition, and TX22 T.O.R.O. across all generations
  • Cheapest FRT on the market

Pros

  • +Drop-in install in under 5 minutes with one punch
  • +Cheapest FRT available, $25 vs $400+ centerfire FRTs
  • +Fully reversible, no permanent slide or frame modification
  • +Stainless steel construction outlasts factory polymer disconnector
  • +Cross-fits every TX22 variant including Compact and Competition

Cons

  • Some ammo brands cycle inconsistently (test before competition)
  • Aggressive cycling may accelerate factory recoil spring wear
