Overview

The Bergara B-14R is a .22 LR built to lie to your hands. It uses Remington 700 dimensions, a full-weight 18-inch heavy barrel, an HMR mini-chassis stock, and a rimfire magazine machined to AICS short-action dimensions, so it weighs around 9.25 pounds and balances like a centerfire precision rifle. The point is to bank hundreds of cheap rimfire reps that transfer directly to a PRS or NRL centerfire gun without the recoil, the cost, or the barrel wear.

Because it sits on a Remington 700 footprint, the B-14R accepts Rem 700 triggers, bases, and most short-action chassis. The barrel is 4140 chromoly with a 1:16 twist, threaded 1/2x28 for a suppressor or brake, and the HMR stock carries an adjustable cheek piece and length of pull with flush-cup sling mounts. It feeds from a 10-round AICS-pattern rimfire magazine.

This is the most expensive rifle in any sane .22 LR roundup, and that is the point: it is a dedicated trainer for serious precision shooters, not a plinker. A shooter who does not run a centerfire bolt gun is paying for commonality they will never use; for them a Tikka T1x or CZ 457 delivers most of the accuracy at half the weight and well under half the price. For the precision crowd, nothing else trains this honestly.
