Overview

The DD PCC SBR is the short configuration of Daniel Defense's 9mm carbine, an 8.3-inch barrel with a 1:10 twist under a 7-inch DD4 M-LOK rail. Where the 916 is a 16-inch carbine, this is the version built for the roles a PCC is actually good at: inside a house, out of a vehicle, and under a suppressor. Collapsed to 22.5 inches, it is shorter than most braced AR pistols.

Mechanically it is the same design as the rest of the PCC line. The fire control pocket is standard mil-spec AR-15, so any drop-in AR trigger group works, but the upper receiver and blowback bolt carrier are Daniel Defense's own and do not interchange with generic AR-9 parts. The charging handle is the patented dual-locking ambidextrous unit that is proprietary to this platform. Magazines are CZ Scorpion EVO 3 pattern, and the rifle ships with a 35-round PMAG 35 EV9.

The rear end is what separates this SKU from the pistol. It ships with a Daniel Defense buttstock over a hydraulic buffer system, which meters bolt travel and takes the edge off the reciprocating-mass slap that defines cheap blowback PCCs. Because it is a short-barreled rifle it transfers on a Form 4 through an SOT or FFL, with the tax stamp, registration, and 21-year-old minimum purchase age that come with it.
