Overview

The DD PCC Pistol is the Title I route to the short Daniel Defense 9mm. The barrel is the same 8.3-inch, 1:10 twist tube as the PCC SBR, under the same 7-inch DD4 free-float M-LOK rail, with the same DD A2 flash hider on 1/2x28 threads. It transfers on a 4473 like any other handgun, with no tax stamp and no Form 4 wait.

The rear end is an SB Tactical SB3 five-position adjustable arm brace, which is what keeps the gun out of NFA territory and gives it the same 22.5 to 27 inch length range as the SBR. At 5.9 pounds bare it is a couple of ounces lighter than the stocked version.

Everything else carries over from the PCC line. The fire control pocket is standard mil-spec AR-15, so drop-in AR trigger groups work, while the upper receiver, blowback bolt carrier, and the patented dual-locking ambidextrous charging handle are proprietary to the platform. Magazines are CZ Scorpion EVO 3 pattern rather than Glock or Colt.

Key Features

  • 8.3" cold hammer forged barrel, 1:10 twist
  • 7" DD4 free-float M-LOK rail
  • SB Tactical SB3 five-position adjustable arm brace
  • Standard mil-spec AR-15 fire control pocket accepts drop-in AR-15 trigger groups
  • Proprietary blowback upper and bolt carrier group (not AR-9 compatible)
  • DD A2 flash hider on 1/2x28 threads
  • CZ Scorpion EVO 3 pattern magazines
  • Title I pistol configuration, transfers on a 4473 with no NFA paperwork

Pros

  • +Same barrel, rail, and muzzle hardware as the PCC SBR with no NFA paperwork
  • +5.9 lbs bare and 22.5" collapsed
  • +AR-15 fire control pocket means any drop-in AR trigger works
  • +Factory 1/2x28 thread is suppressor ready out of the box

Cons

  • Proprietary upper and BCG do not interchange with generic AR-9 parts
  • Patented ambidextrous charging handle is platform-only
  • Brace, not a stock, so cheek weld is a compromise
  • Premium price for a blowback 9mm
