Glock
Long-slide 10mm with 6.02" barrel and factory MOS optic plates for handgun hunting
0-10 Scale Across 8 Axes
The Glock 40 MOS is the purpose-built 10mm hunting pistol. Its 6.02-inch barrel is the longest factory barrel in any Glock, and that extra length extracts real performance from 10mm ammunition: expect 1,340+ fps with 180-grain loads and 1,250+ fps with 200-grain hard cast, representing a 50-80 fps gain over the standard G20's 4.61-inch barrel. For handgun hunting, those additional foot-seconds translate directly to flatter trajectory and deeper penetration at distance.
The MOS (Modular Optic System) slide includes factory adapter plates for Trijicon RMR, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, and other popular footprints. This eliminates the need for aftermarket slide milling, preserving the factory warranty and providing a proven mounting solution. For hunting applications, a red dot is not optional; it transforms a 50-yard pistol into a confident 75-yard platform with the right load.
The G40 shares complete magazine compatibility with the Glock 20, using the same 15-round magazines. The longer slide and sight radius improve accuracy at distance while the additional weight (35.28 oz vs 30.71 oz) helps tame 10mm recoil. The trade-off is holster availability: the 6.02-inch barrel requires hunting-specific holsters from Safariland, Kenai Chest Holster, or similar specialty makers. This is not a concealed carry pistol; it is a field gun designed to deliver maximum performance from the 10mm cartridge.
Add optics, lights, and accessories to build your perfect Glock 40 Gen4 MOS.
