Ruger
Pistol-configuration 10/22 with 10-inch threaded barrel and factory Picatinny rail; brace-ready Takedown variants also available.
0-10 Scale Across 8 Axes
The Ruger 22 Charger is the pistol-configuration 10/22. The 10-inch cold hammer-forged barrel is threaded 1/2x28 from the factory and ships with a thread protector, making the Charger one of the best entry-level rimfire suppressor hosts available. Standard configuration includes a factory Picatinny optics rail and a forward bipod stud, with a polymer pistol grip in place of the carbine's stock.
Internally the Charger is a 10/22. The same trigger groups, bolt assemblies, BX magazines, and barrels (in Charger-specific lengths) all fit. Owners who want a true ultralight rimfire trainer or a quiet small-game pistol have used the Charger as the host for years; the Takedown variant adds a folding-brace interface for transport.
The Charger is technically a pistol under federal law and ships without a stock or brace; adding a stabilizing brace requires choosing one of Ruger's brace-ready variants or building one from a Takedown Charger receiver. For straightforward suppressed plinking and small-game use, the base Charger 4923 is the simplest and cheapest 10/22-derived suppressor host on the market.
