The 6.5 Grendel cartridge was designed around the AR-15 magazine well, delivering 400-yard deer and hog capability without moving to an AR-10-size rifle. Springfield's current 6.5 Grendel SAINT Victor availability has been intermittent, so confirm current retailer stock before buying.
The 16-inch Grendel configuration runs a 1:8 twist, mid-length gas, M-LOK handguard, and Grendel-specific magazines. The 1:8 twist favors heavier 120-130gr hunting bullets.
Standard 5.56 magazines do not reliably feed 6.5 Grendel; use Grendel-specific magazines for any build.
