Overview

The HD P4X is Staccato's full-size, steel-frame take on the HD compensated line. It runs 18+1 in 9mm, weighs 32.5 oz unloaded, and pairs a one-piece 4" comp barrel with full-size Glock magazine compatibility, all starting at $3,599 for the Core package. Where the C4X is a 7075 aluminum carry gun built to shrink the 2011 down to a Glock 19 envelope, the P4X moves the opposite direction: a 4140 billet steel frame, more mass, more capacity, and a spec sheet aimed at the range and the duty belt rather than concealment.

The steel frame is the reason to buy the P4X over the aluminum-framed HD guns. Added weight down low keeps the muzzle flatter under recoil, and the integral compensator cut into the one-piece barrel bleeds gas straight up to fight climb without hanging a separate comp off the muzzle. The P4 and P4.5 are duty 2011s without that integral comp; the P4X is the version built to shoot flat and fast. Controls are fully ambidextrous, with a dual thumb safety and slide stop plus a reversible mag release, and the trigger breaks single-action at 4.0 to 4.5 lb.

Magazine compatibility follows the rest of the HD line: the P4X ships with two 18-round steel magazines and runs Glock 17 and full-size Glock-pattern tubes. That sidesteps the 2011 magazine-cost problem, since proprietary 2011 mags run $90 or more each, and it means most duty and competition shooters already have spares on hand. The gun mounts optics through Staccato's HOST plate system across the common footprints. MSRP runs $3,599 Core, $3,799 Preferred, and $3,999 Premium, with availability through authorized Staccato dealers beginning July 13, 2026; Staccato lists a 90 to 120 day build lead time.
