The Knight's Armament 5.56mm SR-15 KS-3 11.5" Upper Receiver Kit (PN 121437) is the upper half of KAC's KS-3 short-barreled rifle, sold to drop on your own AR-15 lower. The barrel is 11.5" of cold hammer forged, chrome-lined steel with a 1:7 twist, chambered in 5.56 NATO.
The kit is complete: a bolt carrier group with KAC's E3.2 bolt, a charging handle, a muzzle device, front and rear micro iron sights, an M-LOK handguard with an M-LOK Picatinny section and QD sling adapter, and an H2 buffer for the lower. Add a lower and an optic and the gun runs.
The KS-3 upper costs more than a Geissele Super Duty or Daniel Defense 11.5" upper. What the money buys is KAC's bolt and a factory-matched kit from the maker of the SR-15 line; KAC sells it through dealers rather than shipping from its own site.
