Overview
The PSA 8.5" .338 ARC Lightweight Hex upper is the easiest standard-lower build path. It includes the nitrided 6.5 Grendel-family BCG and charging handle, and PSA supplies a 10-round .400 Legend magazine for this configuration.
The upper uses an 8.5-inch 4150V chrome-moly-vanadium nitride barrel, a 1:8 twist, pistol-length gas, a 7-inch Lightweight Hex M-LOK handguard, and 5/8x24 muzzle threads. The current SAAMI drawing lists an optional 1:8 right-hand twist. Any suppressor still needs explicit manufacturer approval for the .338-inch projectile, the barrel length, and the selected mount.
Use this upper with a standard AR-15 lower and PSA's listed .400 Legend magazine. PSA's Sabre IC is a separate host built around the ICAR magwell and Magpul PMAG 25 ICAR.
