The SIG P365X is cut for the Shield RMSc footprint, which SIG calls the Compact footprint, and RMSc-pattern micro dots bolt straight to the slide with nothing under them. The rear sight plate assembly comes off, the optic goes on, and the dot sits as low as this pistol can mount one. The common optic that does not share that base is the Trijicon RMRcc, which uses its own pattern and mounts on the Maple Leaf P365 RMRcc adapter plate. Holosun's K-series dots do not drop straight on either, because their bases and the RMSc lug arrangement do not line up.
Some P365X models arrive with the optic already chosen. SIG sells 365X-9-BXR3P-RS with a ROMEO-RS Compact fitted and 365X-9-BXR3-RXSL with a ROMEO-X SIG-LOC Compact fitted, while the plain optic-ready SKUs ship the rear sight plate assembly over an empty pocket. SIG-LOC is worth understanding before you shop those: its mounting screws enter from beneath the slide rather than down through the optic body, so it is not the same interface as a top-screw RMSc dot.

Maple Leaf lists that plate for the P365X, XL, XMacro, Fuse, and AXG Legion slides, and it ships both M3 and M4 plate-to-slide screw sets plus the 5-40 screws for the optic.
Yes. SIG lists every P365X and every P365 XL model under the same Compact (Shield RMSc) footprint. The XL runs a longer slide and a longer sight radius, but the optic pocket is the same, so a dot, a set of screws, or an RMRcc plate bought for one works on the other.
